This 100% arabica coffee was imported from a woman owned coffee farm in Yunnan, China. It's a medium roast and we taste notes of Corn, Plum & Black tea. Delicious when brewed any way but we love it as a pour over or with a drip machine.

Whole beans - These can be ground to your brewing specification if picked up or purchased at our shop on 19 Doyers St, Chinatown. NYC

Roasted with care by Artbean Coffee in Brooklyn, NY. (12oz)

About the farm

Mrs. Na, who owns and operates the washing station, purchases cherry from local farms on the mountain in Yunnan, creating a foundation of consistency year after year. Additionally, her practices have increased consistency, as well as quality and volume. (Dongka is a sizable producer, yielding 400 tons per harvest.)

In the Menglian region, coffee is picked by the local Wa tribe. For Dongka coffee, picking is also done by the Akha, Dai and Lahu tribes. (The farm and washing station owners are members of the Han people.)

As a ceramic and block print artist, she brings block printing and ceramic surface decoration closer together as a means to create new narratives around diasporic storytelling and feminist cultural speculation. By referencing a traditional medium for a contemporary context, she looks back towards the past to reconcile with a disorienting present, before exploring ways to move forward with intention.
